Dries Van Noten

The delicate beauty of the melting ice sculptures at Dries Van Noten was likely the most photographed thing on day two of Paris Fashion Week. After the show, instead of running out as guests usually do, most of the crowd stayed behind to touch and capture videos and close-up shots of the beautiful frozen flower arrangements. As for me? Guilty as charged.

Maison Margiela

In true magpie spirit, the Margiela show was a mash-up of themes I’m still trying to figure out. Futuristic yogis?  Hunger Games TV presenters (with headsets and all)? Business women on their way to scuba lessons? Whoever they were, I wanted to go wherever they were going.

Lanvin 

For the first time ever, women are taking charge as creative directors of historic houses including Lanvin and Dior. Considering all the romance we’re seeing on the Parisian runways this season, this feels like the perfect moment to have a woman in charge. At Lanvin, Bouchra Jarrar showed us how soft tailoring and (very) sheer dresses can blend to perfection for a look that’s comfortable and chic – what every woman wants.

Rochas

I loved seeing musician/model and familiar face Julia Cumming on the Rochas runway. She embodied the youthful, romantic fragility of the entire collection.  Contrasting colours, tulle detailing, tiny sweaters, pleated ’50s skirts and opera length gloves looked perfectly sweet together.
