How to watch tonight's presidential debate, from TV to Facebook and more

Tune into to tonight's presidential debate, which is anticipated to be the most-watched debate in history. 

There's no doubt that the first live debate between US Presidential candidates Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump will be anything short of entertaining. Whether you'll be watching from home on your TV or live streaming it on your phone, you won't miss a minute of the action with this handy viewing guide. 

The debate, which starts at 9pm EST, will take place at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. NBC news anchor Lester Holt will moderate the debate. 

ON TV 

All of the major news networks will broadcast the debate, including ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Fox News to name a few. The debate will not be broadcast on CBC. 

ON FACEBOOK 

ABC and Facebook partnered to live stream the debate on the social media platform. ABC will broadcast Facebook Live coverage starting at 7pm EST (a bit earlier than other outlets' pre-event coverage), along with other additional coverage. 

ON TWITTER

Following Facebook's lead, Twitter partnered with Bloomberg to offer users a live stream of the presidential debate, starting with tonight's event. You can watch it here, starting with pre-event coverage at 8:30pm EST, and follow your favourite election hashtags as you watch the event. 

YOUTUBE

Fox will live stream the debate on its YouTube channel. You can also stream it from The Washington Post's YouTube channel. And if you can't catch Bloomberg's broadcast on Twitter, you can see it on their YouTube channel, as well. 

OTHER PLACES ONLINE 

Most of the major news networks will stream the debate on their websites, including The New York TimesHuffingtom Post and Buzzfeed. Check out your go-to news sites for individual details and pre-event start times. 

VIRTUAL REALITY 

If you're into virtual reality, you can join other VR-enthusiasts and tune into the debate here, starting at 8:30pm EST. If you have friends who are also into VR, you can host your own viewing party. Just please make sure the snacks exist in real life and are not part of the virtual experience.
