Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie just released their first joint statement post-divorce announcement…and it’s basically a guarantee that you’ll never hear from either of them again on the matter.

A day after Brad’s surprise Globes appearance, he and his estranged wife Angelina shut the book on several months of rather nasty legal back-and-forth about their divorce-in-progress.

According to CNN, they’ve agreed to seal all of the court proceedings moving forward in the interest of their six children. This is particularly relevant since Angelina is suing for physical custody of the brood while Pitt is asking for joint custody.

The fact that they’re agreeing to seal the proceedings is a big deal because just a month ago Pitt filed to do this himself, claiming he wanted to protect his children’s privacy. Jolie’s people fired back that he was actually doing it to protect himself. Pitt then responded by filing further docs with the court containing the infamous claim that Angeline has “no self-regulating mechanism”.

Today’s new statement, however, concludes on a civil note:

“The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.”
