Start your day with a nutritious super fruit smoothie with acai and cardamom.


Dark-hued berries (including the exotic açai) and pomegranate juice are loaded with antioxidants, which may help prevent age-related illnesses. kefir and flaxseed oil are stars for digestion. The secret ingredient? cardamom – it adds a subtle spicy sophistication.

Ingredients
  • 1 packet (100 g) frozen unsweetened açai berry purée
  • 1/4 cup each: blueberries, blackberries, raspberries
  • 1/4 cup 2% plain organic kefir
  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened pomegranate juice
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp flaxseed oil

Directions

Combine the ingredients in a blender and purée until smooth.

Per serving: 212 calories; 6 g total fat (1 g saturated fat); 3 g protein; 37 g carbo- hydrates; 4 g fibre; 3 mg cholesterol; 28 mg sodium
