Review: WishPRO Facial Treatment

It's post Labour Day and the news reports would have us  believe that summer is over, but I don't believe the hype. How can I? As I type this post it's a stifling 30c outside. What I do believe is that with the impending change in seasons, both my mental state and skin will be throwing a tantrum, or two, or three, but probably more. I'd like to avoid this, and so should you. WishPro After a summer spent sunning myself (dripping in SPF, of course!), late nights and drinking way too many bottles of Rosé my complexion was on the ruddy and parched side. I needed some professional help—STAT. On a sunny Friday afternoon I made my way to Toronto's Clarity MedSpa where I was warmly greeted by partner and laser technician, Linda Murphy. She started off by telling me that no matter your skin type, you should attempt to  have a facial/skin treatment at least four times a year, especially as seasons change. After a brief yet thorough session on her sofa, she zeroed in on my skin concerns, my skin's behaviour and how I take care of my skin. Next she whipped out a nifty hand held device that I'd never seen before,  WishPRO. I later learned that this cordless device is a multi-platform system. What does that mean? Well, although it looks a bit like a Clarisonic it does WAY more. This skincare gadget, created for professionals, uses Magnetic Infusion Technology (this helps products penetrate into skin deeper), has four interchangeable heads (red LED: Activates dermal fibroblasts, synthesizing collagen and elastin, blue LED: Releases oxygen that kills acne bacteria, micro-current: Activates facial muscles to improve tone and magnetic pulsing: Increases blood circulation, nourishes and improves lymphatic drainage.) and seven different kinds of capsules filled with products that treat everything from anti-aging  to acne. Disclaimer: I should mention this isn't your typical fluffy spa robe and lavender infused tea kind of facial. This skin treatment is designed to be effective, customizable—and quick. "Whether a client needs a hydration facial or something to kill bacteria, this device can use technology, on top of hands, along with product to reach the next level in results," says Murphy. Each capsule is programmed to run for 15 minutes, however several capsules can be used during one treatment. Murphy used two capsules on me using the magnetic pulse head. First was the 'Peel Exfoliator', which contains a mixture of sweet almond oil, Vitamin E and exfoliation particles. Next was the 'Rejuvenation Serum' that uses shea butter to protect and restore elasticity and Vitamin E to help protect from free radicals. It was quick, comfortable and surprisingly relaxing. As for the results; impressive, fast and no down time. My dehydrated patches were immediately plumped up and smoothed out. I'll admit it, when I walked out of the appointment and caught a glimpse of my reflection in a window #Iwasfeelingmyself. And you can't ask for anything better than post skin treatment!

WishPRO treatments range in price, from $90-$150, depending on the number of capsules being used and if the device is being teamed up with other services such as peels or laser treatments.
